Showing films and other audio-visual content in European schools. Obstacles and best practices: final report

Portada Film Education in Europe: Showing films and other audio-visual content in European Schools. Obstacles and best practices (FilmEd)

How are films used in schools? How can films and other audio-visual content be more readily available for teaching purposes? These are the questions explored in this study, which has been carried out by a consortium led by the Autonomous University of Barcelona for the European Commission. The study is divided into three chapters. The school chapter looks into how films are used and how film literacy fits into school curricula. The industry chapter looks at how films are made available to schools by the industry. And finally, the copyright chapter analyses the legal framework in Europe for showing films in schools. The study also includes policy recommendations by the Commission for promoting film literacy in European schools
